Head Brewer

Highlander Beer is now hiring for an experienced brewer to run their new Salmon Brewpub. They are currently in the process of installing a 10bbl brewhouse to supply our newly opened Salmon, ID taproom and pizza kitchen.

The brewery will be a simple 10 bbl set up, strictly to supply the brewpub. It will involve brewing, fermenting, transferring, filtering and kegging processes. No canning line/ packaging equipment on site to worry about! Highlander Beer is looking for someone with head/ lead brewer experience, who is self-motivated, and an independent worker. This position would be responsible for the following:

• Brewing all beer for the Salmon, ID pub
• Responsible for forecasting beer needs for pub, and scheduling out brewing/ kegging schedules.
• Responsible for maintaining high quality standards that match Highlander Beer’s brand and current products.
• Will be required to brew existing recipes, but also generate new recipes for one-off specialty beers.
• Responsible for cleanliness of brewery and equipment
• Must maintain, manage and repair all brewery equipment.
• Responsible for ordering, managing all ingredients and products.
• Responsible for all inventory of ingredients and products

This position will be largely independent, but will work with the Salmon, ID General Manager, Highlander’s Head Brewer at its Missoula location, and the President of Highlander.

This is a salaried position- based on experience. Includes PTO, health insurance, 401k, beer perks, and a flexible schedule based on the needs of the brewpub. Highlander will also offer a relocation stipend for any hire out of area.
